Zamaria John, LPC Intern

Zamaria John is a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern under the supervision of Sherell Hebert, M.A., LPC-S. She obtained her Master of Arts is in Clinical/Community Psychology from Texas Southern University in 2017. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin in 2014. 

Zamaria has previous experience working with suicidal/homicidal adolescents and intellectually disabled adults. Her professional experience includes individual, couple’s, and group therapy. The mental health dilemmasthat Zamaria is competent to assist clients with include, but are not limited to the following: depression, anxiety, anger, life transitions, grief, relationships, and self-esteem.

Zamaria’s experience working with children, adolescents, and adults from a multitude of cultural backgrounds has allowed her to be a knowledgeable and effective therapist. She prides herself at being approachable and making people feel at ease. She believes that by providing an empathetic environment where the client feels safe, every client can reach his/her therapeutic goal. Zamaria’s theoretical orientation is eclectic, which include a mix of cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, and person-centered views.
